Client: Australian Divisions of General Practice

Review the impact of the Practice Nurse Initiative, and develop and disseminate a series of business case models to assist general practices in their assessment of the benefits and implications of employing a practice nurse

Project timeline: November 2002 – April 2003

Brief description:

• Assess the common features of existing business cases from a select group of Divisions of General Practice across Australia, who have undertaken work in this area

• Identify the optimal structure for the proposed business cases

• Verify the applicability of the key elements of the proposed business cases to general practice

• Develop business cases based on benchmark data, and data gathered at practice level, and

• Disseminate the final business cases to all Divisions of General Practices, State Based organizations, and other key stakeholders
