Health service modelling and social enterprise pilot for Cape York

Project Timeline: January – May 2005

KBC as part of a consortium managed by the Cape York Institute to develop health service models based on health system reform for increased community control, and social enterprise pilot to address upstream drivers of health in Cape York.

KBC contribution to the project included:

  • Analysis of current workforce capacity

  • Identification of health service gaps

  • Development of health service delivery model detailing skill mix and number of health professionals, operating in a cluster arrangement

  • Recruitment and retention strategies to support sustainable health service delivery

The alternative models were presented to the Cape York Regional Health Forum in April 2005, and will form the basis for a pilot.
